Steering Wheels

The first thing you'll notice when settling into a racing vehicle, is the steering wheel. Because each type of vehicle has it's own unique requirements, and drivers their own flair, these quality steering wheels come in an assortment of size/styles to suit those needs. 

These are just some of the steering wheel variations available. 
All require drilling to mount and are flat, unless stated otherwise.

Racetech, 
A flat bottom (D)  shaped steering wheel can enhance cockpit clearance.

This involute spline, pull-ring design only allows mating in one position and has virtually no play. Standard 5/8" diameter shaft is welded into your steering shaft (3/4" available upon request). Attaches to wheel using a compact three hole pattern with 10/32 bolts supplied.

        Gauges and Instruments

These 52mm (2") mechanical competition gauges from Racetech, have been the original equipment standard for years. Temperature is by capillary tube in 7' and 9' available lengths. The use of -3 braided line (such as Earl's brake hose) is recommended for a pressure line. Both standard and BSP gauge ends are available from stock.

Racetech F1 mirrors are extremely light weight (86 gram), non handed, central mounting stem and an adjustable swivel mount. The convex lens (W 110mm X H 50mm) supplies a better field of vision for what is going on around you. Black  part# 7T0917

Center mounting, adjustable swivel mirror, with a convex lens, from SPA. Available in black or white housing complete with mounting stem. Used on S-2000, open sports cars and similar applications. part# 7T2118. specify color

SPA mirrors have been OEM equipment of Van Diemen for many years, but often supplied with a flat lens. These replacements have a slight convex lenses for better field of vision.  Unlike the Racetech mirrors, these are handed. In black

Roll Bar Padding

SCCA, NASCAR, NASA and many other sanctioning originations, require/recommend SFI certified roll bar padding on roll cage members in close proximity to the occupant's helmet or body. 
Split foam "pipe insulation" that has been used for years, is discouraged because of it's ability to support fire, give off fumes when burning and it's low energy absorption.

SFI test results to qualify for 45.1, require that, 
1. Impact Attenuation.  The peak acceleration shall not exceed 200 times the force of gravity (g) for any first impact. Second and third impacts shall not exceed 225g's. The Severity index value shall not exceed 1250 for any impact.
2. Flammability.  The after-flame time shall be ten seconds or less. Additionally, no melting or dripping may occur.

Notes for installing: To form or shape to a roll bar, warm padding with a heat gun prior to and during bending. When using wire ties, tighten firmly, but don't over tighten, as they can cut into the padding

Safety Harness

Willans Club 6X6 For Formula or GT cars with the appropriate type mountings,
    Truly the more comfortable way to harness up.

• 6 strap harness with six attachment points, using s5/16" (8mm) diameter bolt fixing for all mountings
• Shoulder and lap straps are 3" (75mm) wide webbing
• Anti-submarine straps are 2" (50mm) wide with 1" (25mm) wide loop at one end to be passed through the "D" rings on the lap straps, before passing the shoulder strap down through the loop prior to connecting into the release mechanism (see photo)
• All straps fully adjustable, Shoulder straps use Willans own anti-creep adjuster, 3" lap straps and sub straps use double steel attachment lugs to give pinch plate adjustment for control of wearer straps.
• A Willans aircraft type rotary multi-point quick release mechanism is used for central fastening. 
• FIA standard 8853/98 and SFI approved
• Standard colors, Black, Blue, Red
• Can be supplied (s/order) with shoulder upper looped & sewn or with 3/8" or 7/16" bolt mounting, various length shoulder strap. 

Willans Club 6X6 For Production, GT  and other sedan based vehicles.

• 6 strap harness with six attachment points, using snap hook and eye-bolt mounting
• Shoulder and lap straps are 3" (75mm) wide webbing
• Anti-submarine straps are 2" (50mm) wide with 1" (25mm) wide loop at one end to be passed through the "D" rings on the lap straps, before passing the shoulder strap down through the loop prior to connecting into the release mechanism (see photo)
• All straps fully adjustable
• A Willans aircraft type rotary multi-point quick release mechanism is used for central fastening. Shoulder and lap straps connect individually to the release mechanism. Note 1 lap strap is permanently fixed to the release mechanism.
